Here’s Why It’s Important To NEVER Let Your Dog Lick You!

Some people are used to this, and they think that the act of their dog licking their face is actually cute.

However, would you still allow it if we tell you something awful about that?
We are not trying to say that you beloved pet wants to hurt you, instead all they ever want is show you affection. However, that is not the case with the bacteria that is found on their tongue.
We all know the saying that the mouth of the dog is cleaner than ours. But that is not true at all.

Marty Becker, who is author of ‘Chicken Soup for the Dog Owner’s Soul, explains it on this way: All you have to do is to look and you will understand everything. They are often raiding the garbage. Also, as we give each other a peck on the cheek when we say hello to some friend, they give each other a peck on the rear end.
According to John Oxford, who is a professor of virology and bacteriology at the Queen Mary University in London, there are even more bacteria in their mouths than you can imagine. And it is not only in the saliva because they put their nose in lot of places and dirty corners or smelling other pet droppings, so their muzzles contain a lot of bacteria, viruses and germs of different kinds.

These bacteria and viruses present in them can be quite dangerous for our health. One example for that is a woman from U.K. that caught an infection from her Italian greyhound’s saliva. She didn’t know that something was wrong until her speech started slurring while she was talking on the phone with her friend.
Her situation got wore quickly and she collapsed in her chair while the ambulance came. She got better even after 2 weeks while she was under antibiotics the whole time. According to the blood test the bacteria responsible for this was capnocytophagacanimorsuswhich is found in the mouths of dogs and cats. This was not the only case, there are 13 cases like this in the UK.

However, this is not the only bacteria that can be passed through the mouth of your pet.
A ringworm infection is very simple to be passed on from your dog, if they are present around their mouth and you engage in kissing, then you will have it too.
Also,MRSA infection in humans, which is producing lesions that is shown on the picture, can be passed on by only one simple lick from your dog.
The dogs can have these bacteria with no symptoms and results on their health, however that is not the case when the human will get in contact with.
Staphylococcus aureusis very similar to MRSA. This is also found on the mouth of our pet but it is not that resistant to medications as others are, however it is better to be avoided.
CapnocytophagaCanimorsus
These bacteria is the worse. There was one case with a man having this capnocytophagacanimorsus infection that was a result from his pet licking his open wound. The situation got worse that his leg needed to be partially amputated.

So, as you can see, the lick from your dog can be quite dangerous because it contains bacteria, that is a fact. The best this to do is to prevent it, so avoid the kisses from your pet!
