8 Year Old Comes Home With Painful Headache. Then Grandpa Discovers Horrifying Truth

Right?! They went to school and studied medicine and have the ability to handle minor emergencies – and at the very least, they can dispense medications.

Sadly, they don’t always do the right thing. An 8-year-old girl in Iowa was rushed to the hospital after the school nurse reportedly gave her someone else’s medication!

The student, Charity, was born to a heroin-addicted mother and is on a cocktail of medicines as a result. She takes seven different pills at home every day and one pill at school.

According to Ron Voorhies, Charity’s grandfather, on February 21, Charity was given a pill that wasn’t hers.

Charity even told the nurse that it wasn’t her medicine, but the nurse told her to take the pill or go to the principal’s office. What is an 8-year-old to do?

Several days after the incident, the school acknowledged there was a medication error. Tragically, it happened again just six weeks later!

There was no error, this was negligence! Charity was told the same thing – take this medicine or go to the principal’s office! This nurse needs to be fired and stripped of her license.

I agree with Voorhies, this isn’t right and can’t be allowed to continue. There is nothing worse than making the same error – on purpose – twice.
