In addition to speedily drying your locks, your hair dryer can be used for a number of things around the house that will make your life a lot easier.
Here are our favorite hair dryer hacks:
Shrink Wrap Hack
Place plastic wrap around a container of leftovers and use your blow dryer to heat the ends of your plastic wrap to seal it tight and keep your food extra fresh. This works well to prevent freezer burn.
Air Pump
Cut the end off of a plastic drink bottle and put the mouthpiece into the hole for something you need to blow up. Place your hair dryer at the open end of the bottle and turn it on to blow up your air mattress or pool float.
Gloss a Cake
If you want your frosted confectionary creation to look ultra fancy, you can heat up your frosted cake with a hair dryer. It will give the frosting a shiny and glossy look as if your sweet treat is glazed.
Pain-Free Bandage Removal
Blow some heat over your bandage for a few seconds and slowly remove it. The heat will melt the glue and allow you to pull it off with the pain.
Stretch Out Your Shoes
First, put on some thick socks and put your shoes on. Then, blow hot air on your shoes, especially in the places where your shoes feel tight. You can wiggle your toes around as you heat the shoe to help them expand. Keep your shoes on until they cool down. This will make your shoes more comfortable and prevent you from getting blisters.
Remove Crayon
If your children decided to turn your wall into an art piece with some crayon, a dryer can help you erase it. Just heat up the area with some crayon to melt the wax and wipe it away.
Dripped Wax
You can use the same method to remove dripped wax. You may have to apply heat a little bit longer if it’s a bigger chunk of wax.
Loosen a Screw
If you have a screw that won’t come loose, heat it up with your hair dryer for a few seconds and try again. It should pop out with ease.
Iron-less Ironing
Did your hotel room come with a blow dryer but not an iron or are you just too lazy to pull out the iron? Spray your garment with some water and use a blow dryer to smooth out any wrinkles.
Peel Off Stickers or Labels
If you have a stubborn sticker or label that won’t come off or is coming off in pieces, just heat it with your hair dryer to soften the adhesive. This will allow you to pull it up with ease.
