Cheese Hashbrown Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (30 oz) package frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (8 oz) container sour cream
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix the ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Layer in the baking dish:
    • Spread the hash brown mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Prepare the topping:
    • In a separate bowl, mix the crushed cornflakes cereal with the melted butter until well coated.
  5. Top the casserole:
    • Sprinkle the buttered cornflakes evenly over the top of the hash brown mixture in the baking dish.
  6. Bake:
    • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
