What is Divinity Candy?
Divinity Halwa is a fluffy fudge-like dessert made with scrambled egg whites. Cook in minutes on the stove and set at room temperature. Divinity desserts are traditionally made from pecans, but you can make them with any other nuts, dried fruit, or addition of your choice.
To Make this Recipe You’Il Need the following ingredients:
- Granulated sugar
- Light corn syrup.
- Chopped toasted pecans.
- Water
- Pure vanilla extract
- Egg whites.
- Pinch of salt.
To prepare your own divinity candy at home, you will need :
- ° 2 cups granulated sugar
- ° 1/2 cup light corn syrup.
- ° 1 cup chopped toasted pecans.
- ° 1/2 cup water
- ° 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ° 2 egg whites.
- ° a pinch of salt.
* Instructions :
- Step 1- In a saucepan &mixing sugar & wate & lightly corn syrup, & salt, and cooking this mixture on a low heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Step 2 – Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites at high speed until stiff peaks form and add the hot syrup continuously on medium speed for 7 minutes.
- Step 3 – Add the vanilla and chopped pecans and continue to whisk until the mixture is firm.
- Step 4 – Spoon the mixture with a rounded teaspoon onto lightly greased wax paper. Garnish if desired (I used roasted pecan halves). Then put it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
