Easy Meatball Subs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Brioche Hotdog buns
  • 1 package of frozen meatballs
  • Spaghetti sauce (store-bought or homemade, whichever you prefer)
  • Provolone cheese slices

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Buns: Split the Brioche hotdog buns horizontally and place them on a baking sheet. Toast the buns in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden and slightly crispy. Remove them from the oven and set aside.
  3. Heat the Meatballs: While the buns are toasting, heat the frozen meatballs according to the package instructions. You can do this in the microwave or on the stovetop. Once heated through, set the meatballs aside.
  4. Warm the Spaghetti Sauce: In a saucepan, heat the spaghetti sauce over medium heat until it’s hot and simmering. If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can let it simmer for a few extra minutes to reduce and thicken.
  5. Assemble the Subs:
    • Spoon a generous amount of hot spaghetti sauce onto the toasted side of each bun.
    • Place a layer of heated meatballs over the sauce.
    • Top the meatballs with a slice of Provolone cheese.
  6. Melt the Cheese: Place the assembled meatball subs back into the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Carefully remove the meatball subs from the oven. Let them cool for a minute or two, then serve hot. These subs are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven when the cheese is gooey and the meatballs are piping hot.
