Fish Tacos with Red Cabbage Slaw

These fish tacos are so delicious and easy to make! The red cabbage slaw works perfectly with the fish tacos and is made so easily.

Fish Tacos with Red Cabbage Slaw
Ingredients
  • 4 tilapia fillets, cut into strips and halved (if fillets are thick slice them in half like a book)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 2 egg whites, beaten
  • 1 cup beer
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil or vegetable oil
  • corn tortillas
  • Red Cabbage Slaw
Instructions
  1. pat fish dry on paper towel
  2. combine flour, salt, pepper, cumin, and coriander in a medium sized bowl
  3. stir in egg whites
  4. whisk in the beer and let it sit for 30 minutes
  5. heat the oil in a large skillet over medium high heat (test by dropping a tiny bit of beer batter, when it sizzles it’s ready)
  6. dip the piece of fish in the beer batter and allow the extra to drip off
  7. place in the hot oil, cooking just a few at a time
  8. cook for 2-3 min on one side then flip when golden brown
  9. allow the other side to cook and become golden as well
  10. remove and set on paper towels
  11. warm tortillas and place slaw on the tortilla and a piece of fish on top
  12. enjoy!
