Ingredients:
- 12 ice cream sandwiches
- 1 cup hot fudge sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
- 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 1 cup cookie crumbs (you can use chocolate chip cookies, Oreos, or any other favorite cookies)
- Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, or chocolate chips for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare a Dish:
- Choose a rectangular or square dish that’s suitable for freezing. A 9×13-inch pan works well, but you can adjust the size based on the number of ice cream sandwiches you have.
- Drizzle Hot Fudge:
- Warm up 1 cup of hot fudge sauce in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds until it’s pourable. Pour a generous layer of hot fudge into the bottom of your dish, spreading it out evenly.
- First Ice Cream Sandwich Layer:
- Place six ice cream sandwiches on top of the hot fudge layer. You may need to cut some sandwiches to fit snugly.
- More Hot Fudge:
- Pour half of the remaining hot fudge sauce over the first layer of ice cream sandwiches, spreading it evenly.
- Whipped Topping Layer:
- Spread 1 cup of whipped topping (Cool Whip) evenly over the hot fudge layer.
- Second Ice Cream Sandwich Layer:
- Add another layer of six ice cream sandwiches on top of the whipped topping.
- Final Hot Fudge Layer:
- Pour the remaining hot fudge sauce over the second layer of ice cream sandwiches, making sure it covers the sandwiches completely.
- Cookie Crumbs:
- Sprinkle the cookie crumbs generously over the top, covering the hot fudge layer.
- Freeze:
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil and place it in the freezer. Allow it to freeze for at least 3-4 hours, or until it’s firm.
- Drizzle Hot Fudge (Before Serving):
- Just before serving, remove the cake from the freezer and drizzle more hot fudge sauce over the top for an extra decadent touch.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Add any optional toppings you like, such as crushed nuts, sprinkles, or chocolate chips. Slice and serve your ice cream sandwich cake immediately while it’s frozen and delicious.
