Copycat Recipe for Japanese-inspired Kit Kat Croissants

MINI KIT KAT CROISSANTS

A mini sugary croissant with our favorite crunchy chocolate-covered wafer baked inside? Sign us up! It’s so good, and so easy—like the French pain au chocolat but American-style. Er, should we say Japanese? They’re the ones who came up with the delicious idea!

INGREDIENTS

For 12 croissants

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry already rolled out
  • 12 mini Kit Kat bars
  • 1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Directions

  • CUT THE PUFF PASTRY INTO QUARTERS
  • THEN CUT EACH QUARTER INTO 3 TRIANGLES
  • MAKE A NOTCH ON THE BOTTOM OF EACH TRIANGLE IN THE CENTER
  • PLACE A MINI KIT KAT BAR AT THE BASE OF ONE TRIANGLE AND ROLL UP
  • DO THE SAME FOR THE REMAINING TRIANGLES
  • BRUSH EACH MINI CROISSANT WITH THE EGG YOLK + MILK MIXTURE
  • SPRINKLE THE CROISSANTS WITH THE BROWN SUGAR
  • BAKE

Bake for 10 minutes in a preheated oven at 350 °F. Let cool on a metal rack, then serve immediately.
