– Butter: 1/4 cup

– Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup

– Water: 1 tbsp

– Vanilla: 1 tsp

1. For the cookies- Set first the temperature of the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Then pick large bowl and combine in cookie ingredients and mix until completely incorporated. That’s right, dough will be thick.

3. Make sure to scoop cookies onto a parchment lined cookie sheet using a medium sized cookie scoop {or heaping tablespoon}.

4. You’ll want to bake for 7 to 8 minutes, remove from oven and let cool on cookie sheet for 4 to 5 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack. And please repeat until all of the dough is baked.

5. For the glaze- In a small sauce pan combine the glaze ingredients and cook over medium-low heat for 4 minutes, or until the sugar is dissolved, being sure to whisk the whole time.

6. If necessary, you may want to spoon a teaspoon of glaze over each cookie and spread out.

7. At this point, let glaze set and then sprinkle with powdered sugar. Always remember to keep the Kentucky butter cake cookies in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
