Crack Cake: A Deliciously Addictive Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 small box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Bundt pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and white wine. Beat until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack.
While the cake is baking, make the glaze by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the granulated sugar, white wine, water, and vanilla until dissolved. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Poke small holes in the warm cake with a toothpick and pour the glaze over it, letting it soak in.
Allow the cake to cool completely, letting the glaze set.
Slice and enjoy on its own or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a special treat!
