A simple cleaning hack could save you a half hour’s worth of scrubbing and a lot of elbow grease, all without the use of noxious chemicals.
Here are our favorite natural cleaning hacks that will get your kitchen sparkling clean.
Stainless Steel Polish
Place about 1 Tbsp of coconut oil on a microfiber cloth and use it to shine up your stainless steel appliances and wipe away fingerprints.
Cutting Board
Cut a lemon in half and rub it all over the cutting board. Then cover it with salt and leave it for 15 minutes. Scrub it down with a sponge and rinse it off. This will get rid of germs and any caked on food.
Dishwasher
Fill one or two bowls with undiluted white vinegar and place the bowls on the top shelf of your dishwasher and run it through without any other dishes in it.
Pans
Sprinkle some salt on a halved lemon and use it to scrub away the grime in your pans. Wipe it away with a paper towel and your pan will look brand new.
Coffee Machine
Fill up your coffee machine well with water and vinegar and run it through a cycle to get rid of the limescale and any other build up in your machine.
Faucet Mineral Deposits
Wrap a dish towel around the bottom of your faucet where the mineral deposits have built up and soak the towel in vinegar. Leave it there for one hour, then scrub it away with a toothbrush.
Tile Grout
Get your tile grout clean and white again by mixing baking soda, lemon juice, and vinegar and scrubbing it with a brush. This will whiten, disinfect, and rid your tile grout of mildew and mold.
Oven
Don’t waste your time painstakingly scrubbing away all the caked on food that dripped into your oven. You can easily wipe it away by making a paste from baking soda and water and spreading it over your oven. Then spritz your paste with some vinegar. Everything will easily wipe right off.
Vents
Boil some water and pour in baking soda. Dip in your vent screen on both ends and it will come out like brand new.
