CHEDDAR BAY BISCUITS

CHEDDAR BAY BISCUITS

Ingredients:

For the Biscuits:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• ½ tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp sugar
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 cup buttermilk (cold)
• ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
• 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

For the Garlic Butter Topping:
• 2 tbsp melted butter
• ½ tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley (or ½ tsp dried)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Stir in cheddar cheese.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk and melted butter (it may clump — that’s OK!). Add to dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
  5. Drop heaping spoonfuls onto the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. While baking, mix garlic butter topping and brush over warm biscuits once out of the oven.
