Creamy tortellini soup with tender tortellini, fresh cabbage, and Italian sausage. Delicious and easy tortellini soup prepared in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb mild Italian sausage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1 tsp salt, adjust to taste
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 6 oz tomato sauce
- 12 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
- Bunch kale, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
- Heat a heavy, deep saucepan over a medium heat. Cook the Italian sausage until it
turns light brown. - Add the chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes until softened. Add the crushed garlic
and season with salt to taste - Add chicken broth and tomato sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add the tortellini and simmer for 5 minutes. You may to adjust the cooking time
depending on the size of the tortellini. - Add chopped turnip and heavy cream. Simmer on low heat for 2 to 3 minutes, or
until turnips are tender. Raise the fire and serve.
