These are the best homemade dinner rolls Iโve ever had and it all starts with a straightforward 7 ingredient dough. I make these rolls whenever I get the chance and even brought a pan to our friends who just welcomed a baby. Theyโre pillow-soft with the most delicious flaky and buttery texture. Everyone will demand you bake them on repeat.
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups of flour
2 tsp of yeast
1 cup of milk
2 tbsp of sugar
1 tsp of salt
1 large egg
Half a cup of melted butter
METHOD:
โขIn a mixing bowl,add yeast,1 tbsp of sugar and lukewarm milk (it should not be hot,itโll kill the yeast)mix and cover it for about 5-7 minutes to bloom.
โขin the yeast mixture,add egg,melted butter,flour,salt and the remaining 1tbsp of sugar then mix well.
โขtransfer the dough on a slightly floured surface then kneed for about 10 minutes or till the dough is smooth.
โขplace the dough in a greased bowl,cover it and put in a warm place until it has doubled the size.
โขpunch the dough to remove the air. Roll the dough into small balls then place in a greased baking tray. Cover it to let it rise for the second time.
โขbake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes
โขbrush the rolls with butter immediately after taking them out of the oven.
