Chopped Italian sandwiches are my new favorite!
ham, pepperoni, salami, banana peppers, lettuce, tomato, mayo, Italian dressing, provolone cheese, red onion on a hoagie bun!
Ingredients:
- 1 hoagie bun
- 4 slices of ham
- 8 slices of pepperoni
- 6 slices of salami
- 1/4 cup banana peppers, sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Italian dressing
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for a warm and toasty sandwich.
- Slice the hoagie bun horizontally, keeping it connected on one side.
- Lay out the ham, pepperoni, and salami evenly on a baking sheet. Place it in the preheated oven for 3-5 minutes or until the meats are warmed through and slightly crispy.
- While the meats are warming, spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the hoagie bun and Italian dressing on the top half.
- Take the hoagie bun out of the oven and layer the warm ham, pepperoni, and salami on the bottom half of the bun.
- Arrange banana peppers, lettuce, tomato slices, provolone cheese, and red onion on top of the meats.
- Carefully place the top half of the hoagie bun over the layered ingredients.
- If you prefer a hot sandwich, you can place the assembled hoagie back in the oven for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sandwich is warmed through.
- Press the sandwich gently together, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Slice the Italian Delight Hoagie in half diagonally and serve immediately. Enjoy your flavorful and satisfying Italian sandwich
