My Perfect Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a delightful treat loved by many for their sweet, gooey texture and comforting aroma of cinnamon. Here’s a simple recipe to make them at home:

Ingredients for the Dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs

Ingredients for the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Ingredients for the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm (about 110°F/45°C) and the butter is melted. Stir the milk mixture into the dry ingredients.
  3. Add the eggs and beat well. Stir in the remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let it rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  6. Punch the dough down and roll it out into a 15×9-inch rectangle.
  7. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it over the butter.
  8. Starting with a long edge, roll up the dough and pinch the seam to seal. Cut the roll into 12 slices.
  9. Place the slices in a greased 13×9-inch baking pan. Cover and let them rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar until creamy.
  12. Once the rolls are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Spread the frosting over the warm rolls.
  13. Serve the cinnamon rolls warm and enjoy!
