
Golden, puffy, and chewy flatbread that’s perfect on its own, with honey, or as the base for tacos!
𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗲:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
• ¾ cup warm water (or milk)
• Optional: 1 tbsp vegetable oil or shortening (for softer dough)
• Oil for frying
Direction :
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add water (and oil if using). Mix into a soft dough.
Knead briefly, then let rest 30 minutes, covered.
Divide into 4–6 balls. Roll each into a flat round (about ¼ inch thick).
Heat oil (about 1″ deep) in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Fry each round 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown and puffed.
Drain on paper towels. Serve warm — sweet or savory!
