Ingredients:

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients needed according to the box instructions)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven and prepare the chocolate cake batter according to the instructions on the box.
  2. Bake the cake in a 9×13-inch pan as directed.
  3. Once the cake is out of the oven, use the end of a stir spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
  5. Prepare the peanut butter syrup.

Peanut Butter Syrup:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 to 1 cup peanut butter (adjust to your preference)

Instructions:

  1. In a pot over low heat, combine the heavy whipping cream, light corn syrup, light brown sugar, and peanut butter.
  2. Continuously stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
  3. Remove from heat.

Assembly:

  1. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  2. If desired, reserve about 1/4 of the peanut butter syrup for topping. Use the remaining syrup to fill the holes in the cake.
  3. Once the cake has cooled, spread a layer of whipped topping or cool whip over the cake.
  4. Drizzle the reserved peanut butter syrup over the whipped topping.
  5. Optionally, garnish the cake with chopped Reese’s cups.
  6. Refrigerate the cake for several hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve chilled and enjoy!
